Sorry to start the year with a nasty post with nasty photos of a nasty rash but this was soooo last year (just last week, har har) I took a break from work for a week. Consider it my Christmas break. I was so looking forward to it.
Anyhow, before the "break", I am already feeling "the itch". I know this feeling already. I already experienced this before. I knew its just too good to be true but still I hoped that I am just imagining things.
By the time my Christmas break started, my skin started acting up ... like so:

I cropped the photos because, you know... you don't need to see my stretch marks. HAHA!!
I immediately stopped using Palmer's Cocoa Butter. Although I can not confirm that this rash was brought on by my continuous use of Palmer's, I can still say that that is the only "new" thing added to my routine. This was the same reaction I had 5 years ago when I used the Cocoa Body Butter from Palmer's. (But that was worst because a larger part of my belly and back was affected).
I started putting cortisone cream and resisted the urge to scratch. I lost sleep because of this because it burns and it really is itchy! I also cleaned the area with Betadine solution and sulfur soap. Basically, it took a week to calm the rash and it kinda ruined my break. (booo!!)
By New Year's, the rash has dried up. It hasn't completely cleared, though.
I now have a big bottle of Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula - Body Oil gathering dust in the bath. :(
Do you think it's related? Could it be the cause? Anyone experienced the same thing?
And by the way, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :P

Allergic reaction to cocoa butter?
ReplyDeleteI haven't used any Palmer products but if you're having rashes, try the Beauty oil of Human Nature. :) It might help. :)
ReplyDelete@Mindy, not sure if its a reaction to cocoa butter coz I've also used cocoa butter range from vaseline and I didn't get any rash. :(
ReplyDelete@Maggie, I will try to find Human Nature products here in Dubai. Thanks for the tip!
Lucas Papaw, teh!!!
ReplyDeleteI itched with this oil too!! I threw it away!!
ReplyDeleteHey Grace, thanks for dropping by and its nice to know that I'm not the only person who experienced this!
ReplyDeleteThe rash is still here but a bit better now. It's such a hassle. ugh!
